Ana A. Alpízar (La Habana, 1990). Cuban filmmaker residing in New York. She is co-
founder of the FILA20 films collective, a Cuban-American company whose more than
twenty projects have been exhibited and/or awarded around the world. As a writer and
screenwriter, her short film El Estreno was awarded the Best Short Film Award at the China
Women’s Film Festival, and El Pescador was part of, among others, the Official Selection of
Sundance, Miami International Film Festival, NALIP, and LASA where received a Special
Mention from the Jury. She was the editor of Juan Pablo Daranas´ Domestic Animals (2023),
the first feature film produced by FILA20. Since 2020, she has worked as a film and
television editor on different projects in Los Angeles and New York.
